"Service is who we are, and service is what we do."

Chapter President's Greetings!

Warm greetings on behalf of the talented and committed women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Chi Mu Omega Chapter.

It is a blessing and honor to serve as the seventh chapter president as we are approaching our 20th anniversary! Our illustrious chapter was chartered December 6, 2003, in the historic town Mound Bayou located in the Mississippi Delta. For nearly 20 years, we continue to provide key programs and scholarships to impart the Alpha Kappa Alpha footprints and founding principles of service to those locally and globally.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has been in existence for 114 years. We take pride in knowing that nearly 300,000 members continue to be of service to all mankind. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has played a critical role in advancing and advocating for improved academic, professional and civic pathways for youth, women, and families.

Our International Program, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood” as comprised by our 31st International President, Danette Anthony Reed, focuses on the following areas:

  • Strengthen Our Sisterhood

  • Empower Our Families

  • Build Our Economic Wealth

  • Enhance Our Environment

  • Advocate for Social Justice

  • Uplift Our Local Community

Today, our steadfast commitment to being of service to all mankind remains at the forefront of our programs of service, connection activities, and our illustrious sisterhood. Our members represent the very best in fields such as education, medicine, law enforcement, business, community leaders and scholars. We are represented on the highest level of government with our esteemed sister, Madam Vice President, Kamala Harris, leading the way. Most importantly, we are servant leaders that deliver high impact, hands on service for those most in need.

We actively seek opportunities to engage with the community, collaborate with partners, and offer programs and services that are impactful and sustainable. Please visit our website often and explore our events page to learn more about the community service programs and upcoming events of the chapter as well as follow us on Facebook to learn more about scholarship opportunities, public volunteer service, and events.

In Service and Sisterhood,
